Commission Junction is the bigges affiliate network available online. They are offering few thousand affiliate programs, that joined their network.

They have many important clients (Fortune 500 companies). My experience with them was most of the time positive so far. I’ve started using this affiliate network back in 2001, 6 years have past since that time. One of the most important things that they are able to provide to both merchants and affiliates is reliability. Since I’ve started using them they have never missed a payment. The only delayed payment was the 1st payment because it was the 1st month and it was a pretty large sum, and they said that they have to investigate things first.

Another type of reliability that this affiliate network was able to provide me is the fact that after the transactions are locked you are going to get your money. There are many affiliate networks that do a million things to shave off the affiliates. But commission junction have never done such a thing ever.

As any affiliate network it has some minuses: they dont offer real time tracking, so this means that the leads or sales that you are bringing in are a 2 hours delayed.
Another thing that I dont like is that sometimes you are not able to login in your account due to some of their server errors. And the last thing that I’m going to mention is that they only allow their international publishers to get paid by checks, and uk canada and USA can get paid also by wire, which is one of the greatest way to get paid.

Regarding the affiliates programs that you can find there. I managed to always find good ones that have a positive ROI for the PPC campaigns that I’ve created. There are many people that dont like CJ and they complain about a million things, but I like them because they have always been a reliable partner, and I was able to earn a lot of money thanks to their affiliate network.

The moment you start earning money out of your blog you will have an extra incentive to write more articles everyday, and to give out what’s best.

So far what I’ve experienced with my new blog is that I see the blog universe is moving a lot faster than a normal website, and I consider that it’s easier to get visitors to your blog. There are just 90 millions blogs online, but most of the bloggers arent internet marketing experts that are doing a lot of things to get their blog to be the most popular. Also most blogs are about stuff that isnt paying off very well.

Adsense loves content, and it will always give you the best pay per click and it should be posted on as many pages as possible, there are a lot of successful bloggers that are earning their living out of adsense. It’s important that you place your adsense banners in an apropriate place, next to the content that you are providing, so far from what I’ve tested the best converting type of ads are those column and that are in the right of the articles. It will be nice if you could select some colors that will make your visitors to notice the ads. Adsense will always show ads that will make your visitors Click on them no matter what is the subject that you are writing about.

2. Another high paying contextual PPC program is YPN (Yahoo publisher network), they are new and they are still testing to improve the way their ads are served, and it can happen sometimes that you will be getting some ads that are out of the context, but in some other cases it happens that people see a larger income coming from YPN than Adsense. You should give it a try who knows…

3. If you have a more product/shopping oriented blog than you must definetely use AuctionAds.com. This Affiliate program used to belong to shoemoney, but now he sold it. The website is showing listings from ebay, and it’s a pay per click advertising program. This is good if you for example have a blog about cool gadgets. The visitors will see what are the best deals on ebay that are related with the content that you just wrote about, and they will click.

4. The last way that I’m going to present you is text-link-ads.com. These guys allow you to receive a certain amount of money just for posting some text links on your blog, you will get an amount of money depending what is your blog about, what is the number of your visitors, and what is you PR.

I hope you will use all these types of money making programs. The best way is that you try them all, there are some people that are using all on the same blog, and this way they are maximizing the profit that they will get from their blogs. You should try it.

Great news!!!! my blog shows up in google search already, it was indexed in just 3 days since its birth. It’s really nice to see that a lot of content made google happy, I will celebrate the moment I will be receiving a visitor from google search, and also the moment when I will be earning my first cent out of this blog. As someone said, a blog cant just take, sometimes it must give something back to you.

I’m happy that we are in google :). With other low content websites it took upto 1-2 months before my website was in google. I’m sure that I will start receiving traffic from google, if I will update it this way (30 new pages every day) google will notice this and it will reward me with visitors

And not only that we’ve made it to google, but we also started to get some inbound links that will be very good for our SEO efforts in the future.

I’ve been able to keep my promises and so far I’ve written around 90 posts in just 3 days, it was hard at the beginning, but in the end I think it’s okay. Another reason why many bloggers never manage to rise the head above the crowd is that they update their blog very rarely, I’ve seen some interesting blogs, but that were getting just 1-2 posts per week. If you want to make something out of your blog you must work 14 hours a day for your blog. Just LIke I’m doing.
Also I’ve seen some successful blogs, that had 10k posts so far, and another one had 30k posts, and all of them were written by one man, it’s true that he started in 2002 but hey, it’s still a lot of work. That blog that had 30k posts was about financial news or something, and it had 1 million inlinks to the pages of the blog.

So in order to be successful you must write a lot and also write interesting things that will make people want to link to it.

At the beginning of this blog until I get that 1k posts crawled by yahoo, I will have a non commercial look, I mean no branding, no logo, no photos no videoblog. Only after that I will try to rise the quality of the blog and start to make things as they should be.

I definetely want to keep this blog up and running for a long time, and to update it as often as possible. Being a blogger is not that easy you cant afford to get some days off, you cant just disconnect from the internet for a week or two, because you will lose all your readers. So once you started a blog and you really want to do something successful, and start making a living off that blog you must never stop posting!

First of all it’s because there are 90 millions bloggers, and it’s just impossible for all these bloggers to be successful, they are too many. THis why only some of them only the best will have success and will live their lives off writing about one of their biggest passion.

Another reason why some people dont have success in writing a blog is because most of the people are boring! Their whole life is based on the same things over and over again, they never change anything in their life, and their life goes by.. without doing anything great.

Another reason why blogs arent successful is because their look/template sucks. You must select a template that will best fit the content of your blog, and also you must have pics and bold paragraphs and hyperlinks and make it multimedia, that’s what people enjoy.

Another reason why their blog is not a complete success is because they dont have a brand, for example if they have a domain that it’s their actual name, and it’s a hard to spell name, or a hard to read name it wont be a success, no branding no marketing. Branding is one of the most important thing in a life of a blogger. (By the way I still havent created a logo and a really cool template but I will do that in the future). I will have a template that will SCREAM OUT TO THE PEOPLE that you will be able to learn some usefull stuff here

I’ve come across a website that was trying to sell an ebook, about making money with blogs, the website looks kind of weird, because there is this guy that claims he is earning $34k/month just by blogging. I mean shoemoney who is one of the most known blogger in the world earns just $12k/month. And in this website he has a story,
it kind of looks similar with the richjerk (who isnt quite rich).

And he claims he has 3 cars, he spends $10k on a 1 week vacation, and that he’s got a $600k house, a ferrari & many other things. He even shows some clickbank printscreens, that are kind of weird because I just cant understand how could he earn that much money? If it’s true…

His testimonials are people that have websites simiar to him, that are trying to sell different ebooks online. I once tried to sell ebooks online, I know I’ve actually brought a package that had few houndreds ebooks and it gaved you the resale right. But unfortunatly it never worked out.

Most of these ebooks are something like they say that they are going to show you a secret technic on how to make money get the top search engine position, and in the end all you will get nothing, or you will only get things that are available everywhere. You know what they say, the best things in life are free.

So my opinion is not to buy this kind of ebooks if you are willing to start making money online. You can get all the information in the world from forums, blogs & other type of webmaster community websites.

In the last couple of months I have been successful with a couple of insurance affiliate programs. The problem with them is that only car insurance and life insurance converted for me so far. I still havent done too much testing. I just started 2 advertising campaigns they were successful and I left them as they are, and now I’m waiting for my checks to arrive.

The insurance affiliate programs are really good because most of them are Pay Per Lead (at least 80-90%). So this means that the visitors that are being sent to the insurance website dont have to buy anything, all they have to do is fill in a short form that is located on the landing page.

The prices per lead for insurance are lower than other types of pay per lead affiliate programs, for example if you could get $20-$30 for debt consolidation, payday loan and mortgage leads. For insurance leads you can get around $10 for each lead that you send. This doesnt mean that the insurance industry is not competitive. It is and it’s one of the largest PPL markets available in the United States.

Some affiliate programs claim that their top affiliates are earning more than $60k/month. So this means that there are a lot of money involved in this industry and that if you do use the right marketing techincs you will earn a lot of money.

I have a friend that is working in this field and he is doing really well I remember he told me recently that he is earning around $1m/year. Now that’s a lot of money.

I think that many of these so called casino affiliate programs have a lot of tricks ready for the payers and also for the affiliates.

It’s been a really big issue the lack of tracking. This thing is happening to Commission Junction, and I’m really sure that it’s happening to casino affiliate programs that are currently available online.
I remember that I used to get once every couple of months a letter from the 888.com affiliate program, with their efforts to put me to work, and start sending them more traffic.

There was a time when I’ve tryed to promote an adult affiliate program. I remember that I’ve found a really great affiliate program that was a nice niche. I’ve started to promote it for a couple of weeks, but unfortunatly I was earning exactly the same amount of money that I was investing so this means that I had to drop it.

I was advertising it by using the google adwords advertising program and I remember that I was paying something like $0.05 per click. And still it wasnt profitable. Anyway I decided to stay out of these so called grey online marketing niche. I dont know but I think that after years and years you would eventually feel better if you have earned a lot of money, created a financial empire by using normal affiliate programs like financial services and other stuff like that. You will live a better life even if you could earn a lot more if you use your knowledge to advertise adult affiliate programs.
