You could be writing one of the most interesting blogs on the internet, spending 100% of your time dedicated to this job, but if you are not getting any traffic, your work will never be repaid. The promotion of the blog is one of the most important jobs of a blogger’s life. If you have no traffic, you have no blog.
One of the best ways that you can get traffic is from search engines, for that you will need to have a lot of pages of content, and also you will need a website that is optimized for the search engines (site maps, lots of links between the pages of the website, and that is update often).
Another way you could be promoting your blog, is by posting comments at blogs that are in the same field as yours, and leave a link that will lead his visitors to your blog.
There are also ping, and trackback methods to promote blogs.
I like a lot blogs because they arent as intrussive as a normal commercial website is. This means that it’s easier to promote, for example if you tell e friend about your blog, I’m sure he will be excited to visit it and maybe learn a thing or two about that certain domain. If you are sending links with commercial websites to your friends, they wont be that happy about.
In order to have a lot of visitors when you are trying to promote a blog, you must have a lot of friends, this way a large number of people will just come there.
