Now that I’ve introduced myself I can start talking about online marketing. By the time I’m writing this in the same time I’m also talking by using a liveperson chat window to a web hosting sales person. I’m trying to find a webhosting that will allow me to host multiple domain names, and one of them will be this blog, that will have a lot of posts. The webhosting that I was looking at is hostgator, and that package that it seems to best fit my need of having a multiple IPs costs $25/month, which is decent.
Right now I have a dedicated server that is located in Canada and that costs around $150/month, unfortunatly it’s not so reliable, I mean it happens to go offline from time to time. And each minute when it’s offline I’m losing money :(.
I would like to tell you why I’m currently searching for a webhosting that can use multiple IPs. The search engines are checking for each website to see what is their IP address. And for example if there are 100 websites on that same server with the same ip address and they all have tons and tons of content and all are linking to just one website that you are trying to do some SEO efforts, the search engines will tell that something is wrong and will not take into consideration those links, from those websites that you’ve worked hard.
Also I’ve noticed that it matters where the server is located, one of my best sites that ranked really well for a couple of years is hosted on a server in USA, and most of my websites are hosted on my dedicated server in CANADA, with the sites from canada it was harder for me to get in top 10 in search engines. So if you want to get a server get one from USA.
So the best way to do it is to get up and running a network of content websites that have thousands of pages and that are search engine oriented, with links to specific webistes that you want to get in top 10 in search engines. is to use a webhosting from USA, it’s best if that webhosting is cheap. this will certainly lower the cost and it will give you a better ROI.
I will still search for more opinions regarding hostgator before I actually buy something.
